Abyss World Philippines Safari: Camiguin, Duka Bay and Anda (Bohol)
The iconic Philippino diving vessel; the bangka boat will be your main mode of transport throughout the itinerary.
The diving in this region is extremely varied: macro fauna is constantly found on beautiful coral plateaus or in the black sand lagoons. Abrupt drop offs or gentle slopes, multiple underwater scenery of volcanic origins. This safari will satisfy avid divers who wish to experience different diving opportunities and discover preserved sites. Day 1: Afternoon/early evening arrival into Cebu and transfer to the Montebello Villa Hotel. Enjoy a leisurely dinner and an early night.
Day 2: Morning departure from Cebu to Cagayan de Oro on Mindanao followed by a two hour road transfer to Duka Bay and Duka Bay Resort. Afternoon dives, schedule permitting.
Day 3 – Day 4: 2-3 dives per day at Duka Bay with land excursions and visits to local markets.
Day 5: One and a half hour boat crossing to Camiguin and check-in at Paras Beach Resort.
Day 5 – Day 7: 2 to 3 dives per day as well as land excursions to volcanoes, waterfalls and tropical forests.
Day 8: 3 hour boat transfer to Anda (Bohol). Transfer to the Flower Beach Resort for 4 nights.
Day 8 – Day 11: 2-3 dives per day off Bohol Island. One evening will be spent enjoying a beach barbeque and over these days you can enjoy various explorations on Bohol.
Day 12: 4 hour boat transfer to Cebu and a final overnight stay at Montebello Villa Hotel.
Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu: Situated in the historical centre of Cebu, in the middle of a 5 hectare park, the Montebello is without a doubt the best way of taking in the atmosphere of Cebu while still assuring a good nights sleep. The hotel boasts comfortable air conditioned rooms with private bathrooms. There is an on-site restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The hotel is located close to the town centre for the local markets and numerous boutiques for shopping.
Duka Bay Resort: Situated on the outskirts of Medina, North of Mindanao, the Duka Bay Resort is a peaceful haven on the sea shore and shaded by beautiful old trees. Comprising 7 modern and spacious villas, the resort is a delightful base for our underwater and overland explorations. All rooms are en-suite and air conditioned, with a fridge and a balcony or patio.
Paras Beach Resort: Situated by the sea, in the north of Camiguin, The Paras Beach Resort welcomes us for this last stage of the safari. This family run resort offers 32 rooms divided into 4 categories: Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Family. All are equipped with air conditioning, hot and cold water, telephone, cable TV and either twin or queen size beds. The resort offers a bar, restaurant, a large swimming pool and many water activities such as fishing, water skiing, parasailing and sea excursions. Being by the sea, but with no real beach, the Paras Beach Resort also runs trips to the white sandy beaches of White Island.
Flower Beach Hotel: On the east side of Bohol, on a small beach near the village of Anda, the Flower Beach Hotel comprises a small number of charming bungalows made from bamboo. All bungalows are duplexes with individual bathrooms, terrace with ocean views and a minibar. A restaurant, bar and lounge chairs are also available to hotel guests.
$2330 includes: 12 nights full board accommodation on a twin/share basis in the specified hotels; airport transfers; all road and boat transfers; minimum of 22 dives and 2 land excursions; dive guide. Single occupancy supplement: $610.
