Abyss World Philippines Safari: The Visayas

The iconic Philippino diving vessel; the bangka boat will be your main mode of transport throughout the itinerary.
The Visayas region of The Philippines offers some of the most exciting and breathtaking diving in the country. Typified by sheers walls, vast numbers of schooling fish and kaleidoscopic reefs, this 12 nights itinerary will delight every diver. Whether you are seeking hammerhead sharks or pygmy seahorses, the array of sites that you can dive on this itinerary will almost certainly warrant extended bottom times!
Day 1: Greet an Abyss World team member at Cebu airport and transfer to the Montebello Villa Hotel for one night. Enjoy dinner by the pool and and the evening at leisure.
Day 2: Depart for Moalboal by bus on a journey of about three hours. Enjoy the scenery en route. Transfer to the Sumisid Lodge for 3 nights.
Day 3 – Day 4: Dive the walls and drop-offs of Moalboal and take day trips to an orchid farm and enjoy the waterfalls of Kawasan.
Day 5: Depart Moalboal for Apo Island on a four hour boat trip broken up by a beach picnic. Transfer to the Apo Beach Resort for two nights. Afternoon dives at Apo Island.
Day 6: More dives at Apo Island as well as the opportunity to explore the island by foot.
Day 7: Depart Apo Island for Siquijor by boat on a two hour crossing. Transfer to the Coco Grove Beach Resort for two nights Afternoon dives at Siquijor.
Day 8: Continue diving Siquijor.
Day 9: Depart Siquijor for Pangalao on a two and a half hour boat trip. Transfer to the Oasis Resort for three nights.
Day 10 – Day 11: Diving at Balicasag and Cabilao. Optional excursion to the Chocolate Hills (not included in the package).
Day 12: Departure to Cebu by boat on a four hour crossing back to Mactan Island and Cebu. Transfer to the Montebello Villa Hotel for your final night.
Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu: Situated in the historical centre of Cebu, in the middle of a 5 hectare park, the Montebello is without a doubt the best way of taking in the atmosphere of Cebu while still assuring a good nights sleep. The hotel boasts comfortable air conditioned rooms with private bathrooms. There is an on-site restaurant, bar and swimming pool. The hotel is located close to the town centre for the local markets and numerous boutiques for shopping.
Sumisid Lodge, Moalboal: On the Panagsama beach, facing Negros Island, the Sumisid Lodge is a small family run hotel with only 11 rooms, all of which are air-conditioned and with private bathrooms. The atmosphere is relaxed and the meals varied and tasty.
Apo Island Beach Resort, Apo Island: With cliffs, white sandy beaches and a marine sanctuary, Apo Island is a small paradise of only 1000 people. The resort is located on a delightful lagoon and has just 8 rooms all with sea views. Electricity runs only from 1800 – 0100.
Coco Grove Beach Resort, Siquijor Island: On the South East of the Siquijor Island and 5 minutes from San Juan village, the Coco Grove is situated on a magnificent white sandy beach lined with coconut trees. Each of the 29 spacious and air-conditioned bungalows have a terrace, private bathroom and minibar. There is a pool, bar and restaurant.
Oasis Resort, Panglao Island: Situated on Alona Beach, in the heart of a shady garden of 5000 square meters, the Oasis Resort features 16 rooms divided into 8 cottages entirely built from natural materials: wood, bamboo and lipa leaves. Each room is equipped with air-conditioning and a private bathroom. There is a pool, a bar, and a large restaurant.
