Andromeda

Andromeda (Andromeda)
The famous ‘red boats’ of the Egyptian and Sudanese Red Sea have often been talked about amongst divers who visit the area. The 40 metre long Andromeda and Cassiopeia are a bit like ‘cousins’, each one deigned in a similar fashion and built from steel to ensure safe passage through the sometimes choppy Red Sea waves.
Andromeda can hold up to 26 guests and 11 crew. Ten twin cabins, two double cabins and one honeymoon suite are spread across the lower and main decks with the upper deck reserved for the shisha room, an elegant Arabian style café decorated with low slung couches, colourful carpets and oriental cussions. Here you can enjoy a hot drink or, should you wish you could even try a flavoured tobacco water pipe! There is also a more ‘western style’ salon with an LCD TV/VCR, DVD and CD player, large sofas and air conditioning. Free WiFi is available. The comfortable 100-square-metre sun deck provides plenty of space for sun seekers, as well as shaded area. Comfortable deck chairs and cushioned seats make time more pleasant. There is a smaller sun deck in front of the captain’s bridge. In front of the salon is a comfortable open but covered area for resting and chatting between dives and in the evening.
The large dive deck and dive platform area ensures more-than-adequate space for divers preparing for their next plunge into the Red Sea. Two hand-held showers on the platform are available for a rinse after diving. A bathroom with shower and marine head leads directly off the dive deck. Kindly note that no rental equipment is kept on board and should be pre-booked. 12 and 15 litre DIN tanks are available, with international adaptors should they be necessary but you should take your own as a precaution. Diving is done from one of two zodiacs and entry is by backwards roll.
Cassiopeia and Andromeda offer 7 nights cruises throughout they year in the Egyptian and Sudanese Red Sea.
