Carpe Vita Explorer (Explorer Ventures)
M/V Carpe Vita Explorer will be a brand new addition to the Explorer Ventures ever expanding fleet of luxurious vessels, cruising the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Carpe Vita is a 38 metre wooden hull purpose built safari yacht along with her 20 metre custom built matching diving dhoni. She boasts 8 large and vibrant hotel style passenger staterooms situated on the lower and main deck along with 2 luxury suites situated on the upper deck. The main deck features a large salon, including the primary bar offering a wide variety of drinks and a lounge area with a large flat screen TV, DVD/MP3 player and sound system. Perfect for watching a movie in the evening or checking your underwater photos and video on the big screen! You can either dine in the saloon or opt to eat al fresco at the aft end of the upper deck. Hot breakfasts are cooked to order, lunch and evening meals are served buffet style bursting with flavour. Endless mouth watering and tempting snacks appear between dives so you will never go hungry or lose weight while onboard! All soft drinks, tea, coffee and water are included in your package. Your evening meal will include two glasses of beer or wine, any additional alcoholic drinks will be added to your onboard bill.
For those not wanting to go home sporting wetsuit and bootie tan lines why not head up to the sun deck to even out those tan lines on one of the sun loungers. If it all gets too hot you can always hop into the Jacuzzi to cool yourself down with ice and a slice!
Four daily dives will be conducted directly from the Dhoni, which will be fully equipped with both air and nitrox compressors, individual gear bins, separate camera and wetsuit rinse tanks, a bathroom and fresh water showers. The water temperature remains a toasty 30 degrees throughout the year but we do recommend a full 3mm suit for exposure protection. Some dives involve kneeling down very quickly in a challenging current, for example in a manta cleaning station on sometimes jagged and uneven rocks.
Carpe Vita Explorer offers 7 or 10 nights cruises to North Male and Ari Atolls, as well as 10 nights cruises to take in Laamu and Meemu Atolls.
From $2200 for a 7 nights cruise and from $3200 for a 10 nights cruise. Includes: airport transfers; 7 or 10 nights cruise on Carpe Vita Explorer on a twin/share basis in a Lower Deck cabin with full board, including soft drinks and 2 glasses of wine or beer with dinner; 6 or 9 full days of diving (up to four a day plus one or two on the last day). Supplement to upgrade to a Main deck cabin: $200. Supplement to upgrade to an Upper deck cabin: $400. In addition there is an $8 per night bed tax payable locally. Single occupancy supplement: 80% of the cruise cost (but you can avoid paying the supplement if you are willing to share a cabin).
