KUREDU ISLAND RESORT

Kuredu Island Resort (Kuredu Island Resort)

Kuredu Island Resort (the sister island to Komandoo) is located 100 kilometres north of Male and your adventure to this paradise island will begin with a 35-minute scenic seaplane transfer from Male with a bird’s eye view of the turquoise lagoons and fringing reef plates so iconic of The Maldives.

Nestled on the northern reef of the world famous Lhaviyani atoll, an area of stunning beauty and abundant fish life, Kuredu island stretches to over 3 kilometres and the resort offers nine different accommodation options to meet every budget.  Bonthi Garden Bungalows are located amidst landscaped gardens. Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas line the fine white sand offering magnificent ocean views or you could choose the ultimate Sangu Water Villas built over the ocean on wooden columns, where from you veranda you can watch baby reef sharks learning to hunt or small rays resting in the quite lagoon as the sun sets.

The resort is served by four main restaurants, Bonthi, Koama, ‘O’ and Sangu depending on your accommodation category, all serving buffets. There are three specialty a la carte restaurants for which a supplement is payable locally. ‘The Far East’ offers a culinary journey to the mystic cuisine of South East Asia. ‘Franco’s’ highlights the Mediterranean flavours of Spain, Greece and Italys whilst ‘The Beach’ offers the local catch of the day or the more traditional steak and can satisfy all taste buds.

Whether you are looking for a quiet romantic drink while you enjoy the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean or to soak up some of the evening entertainment there are a plethora of bars to choose from (five to be precise!). There is a free WiFi connection available in the Akiri Bar, wifi connectivity is also available in your rooms but this will be at an additional charge.

The island has 2 swimming pools, a floodlit tennis court, a floodlit badminton court, a football pitch, a 6 hole pitch & putt golf course & driving range and is proud to boast the largest watersports centre in the Maldives offering a wide range of activities to suit every interest and level of experience. Why not try your hand at windsurfing, kite surfing, catamaran sailing, parasailing, waterskiing, or wakeboarding in-between dives of course!

PRO DIVERS KUREDU

ProDivers are a PADI 5* Centre and are well known for their professional and efficient diving management. With over 40 dive sites located within a 10-45 minutes boat ride there is a superb selection of top quality dive sites available. Dives are available every day and full day dive excursions are offered. The house reef can be dived between 9am and 9pm, and offers you the chance to come and dive whenever you and your buddy want to. Home to a huge range of fish the house reef is also home to a shipwreck running from 3m down to the channel floor at 22m. Swarming with lionfish, and a haven for schools of jacks and batfish, the wreck also provides sanctuary for Napoleon Wrasse at night as they seek shelter inside the ship. The reef itself is home to scorpion fish, turtles and puffer fish as well as the rare leaf fish. Dive boats leave the island three times every day. Whether you are looking for the adrenalin charged channel crossings and the chance to see sharks and rays, or a more relaxed dive to perfect your photography, the daily program of boat dives will be able to provide you with whatever you're looking for. There is no additional charge for Nitrox for those certified.
Non divers can indulge themselves at the sophisticated Duniye Spa (‘World Spa’ in Dhivehi, the language of the Maldives) which offers an exquisite range of treatments by Thai, Balinese and Indian therapists.

The island has a minimum stay policy of six nights. This can be combined with a stay on Komandoo (just a short 30 minute speed boat ride away) or why not combine it with a trip on Monsoon, the most advanced liveaboard in the Maldives departing weekly from Kuredu island to the far Northern atolls of Raa, Baa, Noonu Shaviyani, Haa Dhaal as well as some dives in Lhaviyani Atoll.

There is a minimum stay of 6 nights. Prices below relate to a stay of 7 nights.
