Rocio del Mar

Rocio del Mar (Rocio del Mar)
The Rocio del Mar carries a maximum of 20 passengers in 10 comfortable guest staterooms on two decks. All have private bathrooms and air conditioning. There are room length windows with privacy curtains and convenient gear and clothes storage drawers beneath the beds. There are two staterooms on the second deck behind the bridge on the port and starboard side. Each features a full size lower bed and a single size bed on top with adjustable reading lights. Eight cabins are on the main deck, four on the port and four on the starboard side. 6 twin cabins feature two single beds. 2 cabins feature a double bed with lots of storage space underneath. Individually adjustable reading lights are in each cabin. The spacious dining area is in the lower forward part of the boat to minimize any sense of movement during meals. A comfortable shaded seating area known as the ‘surface interval deck’ offers a great place to wind down between dives. Just inside you will find the small salon where the television is located (and the refreshment fridge!), though most divers prefer to socialise outside. The top deck doubles as the sun deck where you can top up your tan. Here the chef often prepares open air barbeques. Most meals are served in the dining room and meals are either buffet or waiter service. Food is fresh, plentiful and tasty with local flavous prominent! The deep hull design and wave breaking bow minimize surface wave action against the hull as the Rocio Del Mar moves forward through the sea.
Your diving gear is stored on the dive deck, which covers the aft third of the maid deck. Diving is done from a skiff and all you need do is step on board the skiff with your gear on and off you go to the dive site! A small camera table is located in the middle of the dive deck.
Rocio del Mar aims to offer up to 4 or 5 dives a day, with your first dive being taken before breakfast.
Sea of Cortez cruises depart from Puerto Penasco, which is reached by a four hour land transfer from Phoenix, Arizona.
