TI KAYE VILLAGE & ISLAND DIVERS

The view of Ti Kaye from the ocean (Ti Kaye Village)

Nestling on a hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea and in a secluded, peaceful location lies the romantic Ti Kaye Village. This is the perfect spot for those who seek relaxation in casual yet beautiful and elegant surroundings. The village has 33 cottages near a main pavilion, Kai Manje (meaning ‘house of food’ in the local creole tongue), which holds the restaurant, tropical bar and fresh water pool – all with a panoramic view over the Caribbean Sea. Here guests can enjoy an après-dive cocktail while watching the sun set over the sea. Stroll down to dinner at the candlelit tables overlooking the water and watch the white curtains billowing in the gentle trade winds like mystical sails. These warm Caribbean evenings will remain romantic memories to treasure long after your sun tan has faded! The wide selection of meals served in the restaurant takes inspiration from both international and Caribbean cuisine.

Each Gingerbread-style cottage has views overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the long sandy beach. Nineteen of the rooms are in individual cottages; fourteen are in semi-detached cottages, which are adjoined by a balcony door and can be used as two-bedroomed units for families or friends travelling together. All the cottages all have an aura of luxury and are positioned to give privacy and a sea view. Each has a king-sized four poster bed (two single beds can be arranged on request), a large veranda with two rocking chairs and a double hammock. Each room has its own ‘Garden Shower’, open to the skies above and lined with tropical plants. All rooms have air-conditioning as standard, but you might prefer to open the louvered windows and doors to catch cool Caribbean breezes. All cottages and rooms have the same floor plan, are the same size, have the same amenities and are similarly furnished. The differences are in relation to their proximity to the sea. Ocean Front Cottages are closest. Some of them have a larger balcony and a private plunge pool. Ocean View Cottages (some of which also have a private plunge pool) are a little further back and Ocean View Rooms are further up the hillside in semi-detached cottages.

Built at the cliff edge, with dramatic and panoramic views of the silver sands of Anse Cochon below, Kai Koko Spa is the latest addition to Ti Kaye. The spa has 3 treatment rooms built from local bamboo. There is also a relaxation and meditation room with a private jacuzzi. Spa treatments use natural, organic ingredients to achieve a range of relaxing massages and treatments. Cocoa, nutmeg, coconut, mango and papaya all sound good enough to eat, but here at Kai Koko Spa these local ingredients are used as the basis for the spa’s signature treatments. Simply relax while nature’s ingredients and the spa professionals weave their magic.

Ti Kaye Village is situated in Anse Cochon, approximately 80 minutes by road from Hewanorra International Airport (which is in Vieux Fort at the southern tip of the island) and 40 minutes by road from George F Charles Airport (in the north of the island near Castries) from where inter-island flights operate.

Island Divers is a small and friendly dive centre situated on the beach by Ti Kaye Village. Usually there are a maximum of 6 divers on the boat although 8 divers can be accommodated. Dive St Lucia’s boat is a simple 9-metre wooden pirogue which departs from the pier at about 0900 or later each morning for a 2-tank dive, returning in time for a late lunch. Night dives can be arranged locally.
