TUFI RESORT
Tufi is located in Oro Province on the north east side of the mainland of Papua New Guinea approximately 250 kilometres from the capital, Port Moresby. Situated between Lae and Alotau on the tip of Cape Nelson, Tufi is 130km east of Kokoda.
Tufi Resort is one of the few destinations in Papua New Guinea to offer all year round diving. Located in Oro Province is located atop a cliff terrace overlooking Tufi Harbour. From here the stunning scenery and location will make you feel like you have transported to a time gone by.
The clear, calm and protected waters of the tropical fjords are perfect for macro and muck diving, such as the popular House Reef, which is only 3 minutes walk from the resort.
The nearest open water reef is just 15 minutes by boat. This diving paradise has over 30 major dive sites in the nearby tropical waters of the Solomon Sea, with many uncharted reefs waiting to be explored.
Timber bungalows will be your home for your stay at Tufi. All have en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. Deluxe bungalows all have private balconies. Some standard bungalows have private balconies. The family bungalow is effectively two adjoining standard bungalows with a shared bathroom. All bungalows have insect screens, 24 hour electricity and hot water, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge.
The resort has fabulous views and balconies to gaze upon the stunning scenery. A barbeque and al fresco bar and great places to mingle at the end of the diving day. Food is sourced locally where possible, ensuring fresh and tasty meals! Additional activities include fishing, bush and nature walks, canoeing, outrigger safaris, kayaking, bird watching, beach barbeques, cultural walks and village visits.
Tufi is a short flight from Port Moresby where you virtually fly directly into the resort. After stepping off the aircraft it is a lovely 2-3 minute walk to the resort or a 1 minute drive by car.

Price from about $1734 for 7 nights. Includes: 7 nights full board (continental breakfast, lunch and dinner) accommodation in a Standard Room on a twin/share basis at Tufi Resort; airport transfers; 5 days of 2 tank boat dives (Outer reefs), dive guide.
Supplement for 3 boat dives per diving day (Outer reefs): about $150
House reef wharf dives cost about $29 for a one tank dive, $50 for a two tank dive and $60 for a three tank dive.
There is an environmental and safety fee of AU$6 per diving day due locally. An an AU$4.50 per diving day chamber fee will be added for pre-payment.
