Up close and personal with an Oceanic Whitetip Shark! (Stephen Frink/Waterhouse)

In May 2012, for 4 weeks only, Stuart Cove's will be conducting trips from Cat Island in The Bahamas to seek out and dive with the Oceanic White-tip Sharks. The Bahamas has long been a playground for shark lovers and now Stuart Cove are offering the chance to witness one of the world’s most beautiful shark species up close and personal.

Cat Island is a fishhook-shaped island, only 48 miles long and four miles across at the widest part. The island is located near the Tropic of Cancer, between Eleuthera and Long Island and about 130 miles southeast of Nassau and Paradise Island. Sharks are protected in Bahamian waters and Stuart Cove’s are now bringing their years of experience to help you see the Oceanic White-tips!

Accommodation will be at Hawk’s Nest Resort and each morning Stuart Cove’s Dive Masters will escort you on a two tank all day boat trip as you explore the crystal clear waters in search of Oceanic White-tips. Hawk's Nest Resort & Marina is a tropical beachfront paradise on the southern tip of Cat Island. All the colourful rooms are air conditioned with en-suite facilities and enjoy ocean views. Food is a combination of American feasts and local Bahamian cuisine.

There are two airports serving Cat Island; Arthur's Town Airport and New Bight Airport. Frequent domestic and international service is available via scheduled and charter airlines. We will be happy to arrange flights for you from your preferred airport. Please contact us for current airfares.

Stays can be from 2 to 7 nights.

Packages include air confitioned poolside accommodations on a twin/share basis; breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; all day 2 tank boat dives daily (except on the day of arrival and departure); tanks, weights and belt; bicylce rental.
